Royal Academy trained painter.Contemporary British Artist. Discover new paintings from my Shropshire Studio.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.

I ‘m an artist living and working in the beautiful market town of Ludlow, in the heart of Shropshire.

For over thirty years I have been creating paintings inspired by the quiet beauty of the British landscape, gardens and the changing seasons.Every painting begins with careful observation, often from a walk , a garden in full bloom or a fleeting change of light.

I love painting in Cornwall, the Lake District and wherever my travels take me, but I always find myself drawn back to the landscape around my home. The Shropshire Hills, winding rivers, ancient trees and ever changing seasons provide endless inspiration.

trained in Britstol before graduating in Painting from the Royal Academy Schools in London in 1991. Since then I’ve exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Mall Galleries in London and have been fortunate to receive awards for my paintings.

Everything you see here is created using traditional techniques. I paint in oils on canvas or board and draw with pencil, charcoal and chalk on quality paper. I love the richness and the timelessness of these materials and the connection they create between artist and subject.

Whether you’re looking for an original painting , starting a aer collection or simply enjoying a browse, I hope you’ll find something here that speaks to you.

My studio in Ludlow is open by appointment and I’d be delighted to welcome you. Please CONTACT me via the main menu or via email link at the top or bottom of this page, thank you.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll find something enjoyable exploring my work.

Warm wishes,

Sally

News

While the weather is fine, I have been painting outside .

I have new paintings on this website on the watercolour painting page.

My inspiration is largely the changing light and colours found in the landscape, I try to reflect this in my paintings. I am constantly excited by dancing light and shifting shadows!
